The Netherlands Network for Human Rights Research will host its fifth Doctoral Research Forum on 19 November 2026 at the University of Amsterdam Law School!
The Forum brings together PhD members of the Network to present their (plans for) research on human rights. The objective is for participants to present their work in a collaborative setting and facilitate peer-to-peer exchange as well as interaction and mentorship between junior and senior members. To provide valuable feedback to participants, senior members of the Network serve as discussants. The Forum also serves as a social moment for PhD members to get to know their peers, and will be followed by an activity and a dinner.
Submissions
We accept submissions from PhD members at any stage of their doctoral project, even if the project is still in the planning phase. Abstracts can outline the candidate’s research project, a chapter of their thesis, or an article in progress. Presentations are for 10 minutes and will be followed by a discussion round, during which a senior member of the Network will offer feedback to each presenter individually as well as a general Q & A. Presenters are encouraged to publish a post relating to their research on the Network’s Human Rights Here blog subject to editorial decision and review.
To register, please complete this form. Through the form you must also submit your abstract (max. 500 words) and title of the presentation. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 2 October 2026. Please register on time as places are limited.
Please note that only NNHRR members who are PhD candidates at the time of the Forum are eligible to participate. If you are in the process of becoming a member, please feel free to submit your abstract, but membership is required to participate in the Forum. PhD members are eligible for a travel and accommodation grant, reimbursed against receipts after the Forum.
